The Vitality Scale: The Ultimate Measuring Stick

Life is occupied in both perpetuating itself & in surpassing itself; if all it does is maintain itself, then living is only not dying, & human existence is indistinguishable from an absurd vegetation.

Simone de Beauvoir

Is this not the scale by which you use to determine who you befriend and spend time with? On one end we have those with a certain vitality whose striving inspires you or you can relate to. On the other end are those who seem to be only have roots anchoring deeper into a mundane routine and complaining about too much or too little rain.

Is this not the scale by which you evaluate your own life? The degree to which you are surpassing your own expectations or standing still.

Who inspires you (inspire comes from ancient Latin and means to breathe life into)? Do you inspire you?
