Quote of the day: There is a cure for curiosity, but I’d advise against it.

“It is impossible to begin to learn that which one thinks one already knows.”

Epictetus

Since we were on the subject of youth with Taleb’s quote….

Book smarts and life smarts: It astonishes me that my younger self sat down in hundreds of classrooms curious to learn what I did not know (well, most of the time…).

How many times did I sit down with an elder to find out what they knew? Was it because there was a paucity of people that seemed wise, or because I had a hard time getting curious about what I already knew?
